Healthy Food vs. Junk Food


Is it hard on you when you are eating junk foods non stop?

What about when your children bug you to go to McDonalds?

Well I know that can be very hard. I have bugged my parents several times to go to McDonalds. They only let me go once. I loved their food. I think children don’t always go there for the food, but they go there for the toy in their happy meal. I watch a show and Jamie Oliver is in it. He showed the children on the show how to make chicken nuggets. It was gross how they make nuggets! My mom says if you start eating healthy foods you will not want to eat junk foods as much. So I hope you start eating healthy like me.

P.S tell your children if they want the toy in there happy meal you can just buy it online.

Junk Food at School

Hi my name is Kayla. I am 9 years old and love to exercise and eat healthy foods. At my school they serve a lot of junk food. They serve ice-cream, fruit roll ups cookies and a lot of other junk foods. It is hard watching my friends eat ice-cream and other junk foods. It makes me want to eat it so I started getting ice cream everyday. My mom would never let me do that so I kept it a secret. Soon my parents found out that I was getting ice cream every day. I told them how I felt like I could not stop eating sugar and my parents understood. They said eating too much sugar can make you sick, be bad for your heart, and you can get diabetes. This illness can make you blind have to chop of your toes or legs and a lot of other bad things can happen to you. So I said ok I will try super duper hard not to buy ice cream. When I got to school the next day I saw all of my friends eating ice cream. My stomach was saying please give me ice cream. My body was trying to say no. I did not buy ice cream after lunch. I felt good because I did the right thing. That night I went home an my parents said did you buy ice cream. I said no I did not buy ice cream today. My parents talked to me that night about how I can stay healthy. They told me that I exercise a lot and that keeps me healthy. They also said I do eat very healthy already. I said I want to start eating a lot healthier. They said ok. They suggested we only have dessert on the weekends. I said ok. My mom said you can have fruit with a little whip cream during the week. That worked well. Also I started doing more sports like tennis, swimming, basket ball, dancing, and a lot more. Everyday I felt like I was getting stronger and stronger. Soon my mom even started juicing carrots, beets, kale, pineapple, and apples.  The juice tasted very good too. I am glad I stopped eating so much junk food. I feel very proud of myself.
